Our dispute management practice focuses on efficiently navigating and resolving conflicts for both local and international clients. We bring significant expertise in managing and supervising complex disputes, including litigation and arbitration, in both Arabic and English. Many of our lawyers have experience working in multiple jurisdictions and formal legal dispute resolution forums. In addition to representing clients in arbitration, we are also adept at providing risk management and advisory services during large commercial transactions to mitigate potential disputes before they arise.

Notable Matters Undertaken by our Lawyers

• Advised and represented a Holding Company in respect of a dispute regarding the construction and development of the Movenpick hotel in Muscat, against the owner of the hotel.
• Advised a Company on the legal options available as legal recourse against an employee in breach of their employment contract and drafting and serving of a legal notice to the employee in breach of their employment contract with the client.
• Advised a development company following the closure of an ICC Arbitration filed by one of their project consultants.
• Advised an Engineering Consultancy Group on a dispute with its client, a government owned investment entity, pertaining to the development of their new head office and a hotel complex.
• Advised and represented Companies when a Ministry failed to perform its contractual obligations which resulted in the termination of the contract between the two parties. Accordingly, the dispute was referred to arbitration in order to determine the financial claims of the Company.
• Acted for an Emirati oil and gas services company on various aspects of a London seated LCIA Arbitration.
• Advised and represented a Metal products company on a dispute and potential arbitration against an Omani exploration and production company in respect of delays and imposition of penalties.
• Acted for a joint venture in OMR 130 million enforcement and nullification proceedings relating to an arbitral award issued in ICC arbitration concerning a major international airport project in Muscat, Oman, against a government ministry.
• Served as Omani law expert witness for the same joint venture in the underlying ICC arbitration regarding the Muscat airport project, and advised international legal counsel on various Omani law matters connected to the dispute.
• Advised and represented an oil company in all their disputes with shareholders with regard to a mill.
